about me and CRI

I am muhamad doris, I come from Indonesia and have finished my study from University of Indonesia with major in Material Physics.
When I was in Indonesia, before I decided to be as a student of AIV master, I was interested to study something new whose interface between Physics and Biology. I was fascinated to study physics phenomenon in Biological system. Nevertheles, formerly I still didn’t know yet what specific field in Biology to be studied further until I become a student of CRI.

CRI (The Center for research and interdisciplinarity) with the AIV master program, which I think a unique program, has incited me to applied for the program.
Getting experience to be in the CRI with great people is a great favor in my life because not many people can get such opportunity.

I never imagine before that today I am here studying in Paris, in an interdisciplinary study, where I am studying with classmates from various educational background and from different country indeed.

With Physics background I have, it is not easy to move to other discipline like in AIV M1 master where you have to learn Biology a lots.
Formerly, I still groped to what actually kind of research I want to do which later will be useful in my country when I go back then. Yet, after getting opportunity to study in CRI, now, i know what is next step I shall study.

Biotechnology has attracted me to learn more about that field of research. Although, formerly I had not much experience with Biology, that was only Physics that I had, hopefully I can give a unique touch to the Biotechnology area of research in the future and also for my country for sure.

By means of an obligatory to do an internship in the second semester, AIV master has given me another opportunity to do internship in a lab where I never imagine before to be there today. The lab where I am doing an internship is in Institut Pasteur, a lab which has spawn ten world nobel prize.

Expectation for the next AIV master even for the CRI is I wish CRI not only can unite living science study but also can unite any nation in the world to do research together for humanity in the future.

As an improvement, because all of CRI student from various background, it will be better if AIV give more emphasizing to those who have no any background with living science. eventhough in few weeks before the first semester we were given refreshal weeks but it tended to knowledge of biological evolution instead of basic knowledge of Biology subjects like CELL, PROTEIN, DNA, and BACTERIA.
